Czech Sklo Union Glass — Marcus Newhall 2006

This site is dedicated to the glass-makers of Heřmanova Hut’, Libochovice, Rosice and Rudolfova Huť, and to the designers whose visions, they realised.

This is an educational resource concentrating on the pressed glass of Czechoslovakia, manufactured between 1945 and 1990. Whilst it can be a guide to collectors, it is a home for research into the history of post-war pressed glass, and aspects of production, from design to realisation.

This is a work in progress, and as such, will be up-dated as new information becomes available.

Please acknowledge this site, if you use information found here, for whatever reason.

NEWS UPDATE: A book on Sklo Union and Czech Pressed Glass will be published in early/mid 2008. Publication has been delayed, solely due to the high volume of new research materials which have appeared in the last two months, and continues to arrive on a daily basis. Foreword by Professor Sylva Petrová, Director of the International Institute for Research in Glass, and former Curator of Modern Glass at the Applied Arts Museum, Prague.

Peer review to be under-taken by Professor Petrová and
(provisionally) Milán Hlaveš, Curator of Modern Glass, Applied Arts Museum, Prague.

Bienvenue.

This web-site contains absolutely NO material contributed by the serial plagiarist, David M. Issitt, aka ukglasswriter, who continues to pass off the hard work of other intellectuals and writers, as his own.
